Whether you like it or not, creating easy user interface in your web design may have less to do with principles of internet technology and more to do with that high school journalism course you've long forgotten.
Unlike books and other documents, the hypertext links on web pages allow visitors to access a distinct web page. Because any web page could be accessed in a virtual vacuum, it's your job as a web designer to make sure each individual page includes the necessary information to answer the visitor's (and your high school journalism teacher's) four basic questions: who, what, when, and where.
